Spunbond
FQN
spunbond fabrics feature multi layer webs of excellent uniformity,
softness and MD/CD tensile balance. Fabric weight ranges
from 13.5 gsm to 70 gsm and width capability ranges up to
4.2 meters.
Present
FQN spunbonds consist of 2 and 3 web layers (SS, SSS) with
the majority being 3 web layers. Beginning in the 3Q01,
a new line with 4-web layers configuration (SSSS) will be
available. Using its 4 web layers and fine denier (1 to
1.5) fibers capability, this new line is particularly suitable
for the production of fabrics which require extremely high
consistency and uniformity.
Additives
Each
one of the FQN lines is equipped to handle additives and
colors in the melt or in post treatment operations. In addition,
spunbond fabrics may be treated with surfactants for hydrophilicity
and with special additives for skin care in hygiene applications.
The surfactant application system allows treatment across
the full width or in specific locations across the fabric,
generally known as "zoned coating".
Softness
A
special feature of the technology is the production of micro-denier
fibers in the range of 1 to 1.5 denier. These fabrics provide
soft touch and good barrier properties for application like
diaper components and industrial filtration. An added benefit
of the micro-denier fibers is the extra opacity of the fabric,
which is the result of the low pore size structure of the
fine denier fabrics.
